@{b}@{u}@{fg shine}Euro-Update for AmigaOS 2.1+@{fg text}@{uu}@{ub}

This update contains

- updated Amiga keymaps,

- updated german keymap for AmigaOS XL,

- updated Amiga bitmap fonts,

- and updated country description (".country" files),

to support the Euro currency on AmigaOS version 2.1 or higher.

After installing it and rebooting your Amiga, you can access the Euro
currency symbol by pressing the key <Alt-E>. This requires that AmigaOS or
the application you use is set to use one of the standard Amiga bitmap
fonts that came with this update. You can get the copyright symbol by
pressing the key <Alt-Y> now. In fact the mappings of the keys <Alt-E> and
<Alt-Y> have been exchanged to make the Euro symbol available through
<Alt-E>.

You can also use other fonts that implement the Euro currency symbol at
character 164 (ISO 8859-15 standard).

Applications that support country descriptions on AmigaOS 2.1 or higher
use the Euro currency symbol in countries that switched their currency to
Euro.

For countries that are not supported by this update, or for countries that
need special fonts, updated localization packages will be provided. These
should be installed after installing this Euro update.

This update does not yet support the complete ISO 8859-15 standard. Only
the Euro symbol at character 164 is supported. Complete ISO 8859-15
support will be added in a later update. AmigaOS will not support the
Windows 1252 standard that maps the Euro symbol to character 128 cause
this character already has a different meaning for various AmigaOS
components. This update does not replace the fonts Topaz/8 and Topaz/9
which are in the AmigaOS Kickstart ROM.

You can obtain support for this update within AmigaOS 3.9 support only.
Please support Amiga by buying AmigaOS 3.9!
