quics
    - standard mail tools (elm, mail[x], ..)
    - standard news reader (tin.. nntp access allows users to read using
                              whatever reader they want..)
        - quics.*,!quics.beta.*,!quics.private.*,!quics.internal.* should be
available to the users via tin (online to quics) and nntp.
        - without 'authinfo' support only the non-beta,-private,-internal
conferences my be read via nntp (authinfo is a newsreader command,
          tin supports authinfo)
        - conferences may not be posted to via nntp except from *.qnx.com hosts.
        - third party conferences will no longer be able to have topics created
          by their moderators.
        - read-only conferences will just be moderated newsgroups.
        - to add somebody to a "closed" newsgroup you just symlink the conference
into their /var/spool/news tree... 'profile' does this automatically
when they register a serial number.
    - allow resellers/distributors to carry the non-beta/private/internal quics
newsgroups on there own machines (these will be distributed via nntp)
    - since we finally gave the users quics_download/_inject we should continue
to supply this functionality. (this is really only useful for modem
      users now)

contrib/free/pub
    - this __really__ needs to be cleaned up once and for all..
    - free/unsupported software should maybe be under /contrib or something..

updates
    - /updates fills the role.. allows for internet and modem connections.

news
    - should node 1 be the mail/news machine at qnx.com?
    - should there be a gateway machine to give node 18 an nntp port?
        - this could just be temporary until we have some more confidence in
node 1's ability to handle the news.

mail
    - most users will expect mail(x), elm, pine, etc.. mail(x) and elm should suffice.
    - quics shouldn't permit off-site mail to be sent.

ftp - usually things are found in /pub, sometimes in /{blah}, not generally in
      /usr/{anything}
    - allowing non-anonymous ftp to gain access to the updates directory

www
    - right now, vir.com (bensoo) has much better QNX information up than we do
      which is rather embarrasing.
    - this would be a good place for brochure type information, the qnx papers,
      and product announcements.
