MYTH: The left eye is processed by the right side of the brain, and the right eye is processed by the left side of the brain.
- FACT: Information from the left half of both the left and right retinas is processed in the left side of the visual cortex and information from the right half of both the left and right retinas is processed in the right side of the visual cortex.
- Light from the right side of the visual field enters the eye through the cornea/lens and falls onto the left side of the retina, and vice versa. So it can be said that the left half of the visual field is processed in the right side of the brain, and the right half of the visual field is processed in the left side of the brain.
