TEXT EDITOR

Text Editor is a word processing application.

Like most other windows, the Text Editor window has a Window menu.
The options listed in this menu have already been discussed in the
tutorial section titled Menu.

To Open a Text Editor

On the Workspace menu, press and hold MENU and pull down to highlight
Programs. Pull right and highlight Text Editor, then release the
mouse button.

From the File Manager, double click SELECT on the document you want to
open in the Text Editor application. Functioning with the standard
OpenWindows default setting, the document will open in a Text Editor
application window. You can also activate the file you wish to edit,
press and hold MENU on the File button menu, and pull down to
highlight Open. Then, pull right again and down to highlight In
Document Editor. The Document will open in a Text Editor.

Text Editor Functionality

In the top pane of the Text Editor are four menu buttons: File, View,
Edit and Find. These buttons control many of the functions available
in Text Editor.

File

The File menu button contains Load File, Save Current File, Store as
New File, Include File and Empty Document. Use Load File to open a
document in a Text Editor. When you open a new Text Editor, Load File
is the default setting for the File menu button. Clicking SELECT on
the File button exposes a pop-up window. Activate the pop-up window
and type in the document name. Make sure the path name in the pop-up
window is correct. Either click SELECT on the Load File button in the
pop-up window or press Return. The document will appear in the Text
Editor Window. Once you have loaded a document in Text Editor, the
default setting for the File menu button switches to Save Current
File.

To see a demonstration of loading a file into Text Editor, click on
the play button.
